Advantages of EDI Electrodeionized Water System
EDI (Electro-deionization) combines electrodialysis and ion exchange technologies. It uses cation and anion membranes and ion exchange resins to remove ions from water under an electric field, achieving deep purification and desalination. The process continuously regenerates the resin with hydrogen and hydroxide ions produced by water electrolysis.
Why Choose the EDI Water Treatment System?
The production of ultrapure water has evolved to reduce dependence on ion exchange, minimizing chemical use and increasing water utilization. Reverse osmosis (RO) technology removes 95%-98% of ions, reducing acid and alkali use but not eliminating it. Traditionally, the RO + mixed bed process was standard for ultrapure water. However, mixed bed ion exchange requires periodic chemical regeneration, which is not suitable for modern clean production and environmental protection.
EDI technology, combining electrodialysis and ion exchange, revolutionizes water treatment. It uses electric fields and ion membranes instead of chemical regeneration.
